Are You an Intention Setter?
January: a time for planning and resetting for many. Some go dry, some set goals or intentions, some start exercising, some come up with a word for the year and some lay on the couch and say “when the hell is it gonna be Spring?!” (confession: that is me!)
BUT, I also LOVE to review the past year. What worked? What didn’t work? What do I want more of? What do I want less of? And then I reset, plan, dream, hope, set intentions and yes, come up with a word for the year in both my personal life as well as my business life. I’ve been doing this for years with the help of my business coach, Shanna Skidmore. (https://shannaskidmore.com)
Personally, I find that setting intentions for the year helps me with all my decision making, keeps me focused on what matters most to me when I get distracted by all the shiny things out there in the world. And I'll tell ya what I want more of: laughter, time with people, & enriching experiences...and what I want less of: wasteful spending, comparison, & boredom. It's less about resolutions for me and more about how I want to feel when this year ends. The above photo is me and my sweet Pippa on a recent outing...living out my intention to have an enriched life.
I don’t know where you fall in the whole January thing but I'd love to know how you do your January! So please, comment below!
